Untethered Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 for iPhone 4S/ iPad 2 on Windows/ Mac and Linux


Absinthe v0.3, the untethered Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 for iPhone 4S and iPad 2 is out now! These are the step-by-step instructions to jailbreak iPhone 4S/ iPad 2  iOS 5.0.1 with untethered jailbreak Absinthe v0.3 on Windows/ Mac and Linux.
 
Absinthe v0.3 Jailbreak Supports: iPhone 4S – iOS 5.0, iOS 5.0.1 and iPad 2 – iOS 5.0.1 

Mac and Linux users can follow the same step as below;

IMPORTANT: Backup your iPhone 4S/ iPad 2 via iTunes or iCloud before starting the jailbreak process because it may delete your Camera Roll.

Step 1
  • Connect your iPhone 4S or iPad 2 to the computer via USB.
  • Make sure to Off  any Passcode Lock.
  • Backup your iPhone 4S/ iPad 2 via iTunes or iCloud.
(To backup your iDevices via iTunes, open iTunes and right click on your iDevice under DEVICES in left panel on iTunes. And then choose Back Up. In Right panel, choose “Back up to iCloud or Back up to this computer.)


Step 2
  • Extract the downloaded file.
(To extract the downloaded file, Right click on downloaded file and choose “Extract Here”.)

  • After extract it, absinthe application icon will appear on screen.


Step 3
  • Right click on absinthe application icon. And then choose “Run as administrator”
  • Click on Jailbreak button to begin jailbreak iPhone 4S or iPad 2 … 
  • It will take time, don’t worry. Wait for a while.

  


      Step 4
  • Absinthe will inform you that the jailbreak is ‘Almost done…….:).


Step 5
  • The absinthe icon will appear on your iPhone 4S / iPad 2 Home Screens, and press absinthe icon on your iDevices to complete your jailbreak.
  • After about a minute your device will reboot. After reboot, absinthe icon will be changed to Cydia icon on your iDevices’ Home Screens.
  • If you get a message “Error establishing a database connection”, go to: Settings > General > Network > VPN and turn ON VPN.
So, I hope your jailbreak processing is complete now.
